The only rule i genuinely dont like in this game is flipping the sand timer. I omitted it, and instead just had a normal timer and set it to 3 minutes, and i made it a rule that so long as a character was standing on an hr glass by the time the timer was up, the clock gets reset. (I just pretended the guards were in patrol every 3 minutes 🤣🤣), Also i automatically end the timer aswell the moment they all steal the items aswell. Giving them a final 3 minutes to escape (unless you have extra hour glasses spare). I found it much more fun that way.

I could really get into this game. Shame i dont have people to play it with.

It took my group 42 minutes to setup because we tried to follow the manual ourselves Maybe it's just "how long it take to figure out how to play without a vid like this to explain" time

I'm really upset everyone. I got Mysterium and I thought that it has the same rules and everything. Yes it has the same cards almost the same clock, just it is version in Metal box, not in paper like usually board games are. It has not completely everything different, but there is difference. Sadly there are none easy guides to look up for that version :| Maybe someone knows one?

He says sieges can only be used in an attack against castles/strongholds. Not true, they can be used like other land units but their power is zero when they're not attacking (or support an attack) against a stronghold

Manual is very vague. All they need to say is the starting token goes in the middle during set up. Why complicate things by saying the person who recently visited Portugal "takes" the starting marker. This makes it sound like they are putting the starting tile in their floor line. And yeah I have to slow the speed of the video down because it sounds like it's already in fast forward.

Like some have already said, thank you so much! I picked up the digital Steam version when it went on sale and felt like I was dropped into the middle of the ocean - the in game tutorial didn't make any sense to me and I was learning by trial and error till I found this video.

Thanks this worked for my group when we struggled to understand otherwise! We got very confused on the scoring without this! 2 things I wish about this game: That the board was inset for the tiles and scoring tracker, and that the scoring box on the bottom included the other 2 scoring rules it doesn't include (individual tiles get 1 point and that you get 1 point per adjacent tile in each direction when you place one.)

If there are 2 blues and 2 reds on one of the disks or in the center, does the player take both pairs or just pick one of the colors?

Teach it correctly then. 1. The object is to fill your building area, or get victory points such that there aren’t any left. Whichever comes first. Full plantation or out of money does not end the game. 2. Mayor deals out colonists starting with himself and only when one is left on ship takes it. Not the other way around.
